From the early days of independence, poverty of the five Central Asian countries, deteriorated rapidly. Population who are living below the poverty line in every country of Central Asia was close to or more than half of the population. Before and after the new century, with the improvement of economic situation, poverty was decreased to a great degree. In some countries, such as Kazakhstan, the number of population in absolute poverty has reduced greatly. Meanwhile, Tajikstan and Kyrgystan are facing significant hurdles in poverty reduction. For the time being, the relative poverty is increase in trend. Poverty is becoming fertile soil not only for dividing and reconstructing of political forces in Central Asian countries, but also for Three forces, drug smuggling and cross-border crimes. Poverty is very important factor which affect the stability of Central Asia, and it is the problem should be solved by Central Asian countries as well.
