Uzbekistan saw continuous stability in 2011. In terms of politics, it continued to steadily push forward reform so that keep overall the social condition stable and good. The country took the improvement of people's livelihood and building of civil society as domestic policies' priority. Meanwhile, it kept alert of religious extremism and terrorism.Economic performance continued to improve. Uzbekistan made great efforts to develop small-sized and medium-sized private sectors with great achievements in the aspects of energy, manufacturing and others. As for foreign relations, it maintained stable and balanced policy between America and Russia, while keeping closer tie with USA and smooth relations with the EU. However, its relations with Tajikistan still are at a low ebb and squabbling continues. Bilateral relations between China and Uzbekistan have developed well, and cooperation of both side in all fields is good.
