Since China and Peru extended diplomatic recognitions to each other in late 1971, both parties witnessed a steady but dynamic growth in political, economic and cultural cooperation. After entering into the new century, the Sino-Peruvian comprehensive partnership became increasing mature with deepened mutual understanding, pragmatic interests in economic transactions and upgrading multi-level two-way communications among both peoples and societies. Despite all these deeds, China and Peru are facing new challenges in their relations. Both of them are in need to further explore alternative approaches of cooperation to fully meet the update demand and constraints in the existing cooperation. Should major risks and obstacles be handled appropriately as listed in this analysis, the future bilateral relationship between China and Peru is destined to be improved greatly in terms of quality and broad implications.
