The car developing policy in domestic has already reached the final conclusion：“limit it to use，not limit it to hold”. But almost all cities face the predicament of traffic jam generally. Based on trip survey in 2005，this paper analyzes the traffic current situation and cause of Guangzhou，predicts travel characteristic and development trend of the car. According to the Guangzhou comprehensive transportation strategic objective，it proposes a series of enforcement measures for coping with the rapid growth of the car from four respects，such as “land use structure optimization，public transport system construction，traffic management enhancement，innovative coordinating mechanism establishment”.
