Food and drug safety is closely connected to the public health and life safety.In 2007，the food and drug authority thoroughly implemented the requirement of administration by law and fully promoted the legal development of food and drug safety.Based on the principles of people-centered idea，safety first，scientific administration and harmonious development，the food and drug authority greatly intensified the legislation，mass legal education，law enforcement，etc.，improved the legal system for the food and drug production and distribution，investigated and punished some seriously harmful cases with respect to food and drug，and strongly safeguarded the public safety.In 2008，the food and drug authority will further step forward in the construction of laws and regulations to enhance the legal standards for Chinese food and drug safety，which will contribute to the building of well-off society.
