BBS is one of the Internet’s basic applications. Since the late 1990s，the BBS’s flourished，breaking the pattern of China’s media，making the “hubbub” of the public opinion become a very important force. Some well-known Internet forums，such as the People’s Network Forum was regarded as China’s power network vane and barometer of public opinion. This report discusses the basic functions of the network and forum community，the development of Chinese Internet forum and basic situation，the characteristics of BBS users and their behaviors etc.
