MICE industry，as a sunrise industry with broad prospect，has brought about tremendous economic benefits to relevant industries of a city. The paper，taking Xi’an as a case study，makes a study of MICE industry and finds out that Xi’an boasts a series of favourable conditions in both hardware and software，and has been developing quickly. However，there exists distinct problems and deficiencies in management system，operation of related industries such as tourism operation，brand building，as well as the building up of a contingent of professionals. The author，based on the study of the developing status of the industry of MICE both at home and abroad，offers some suggestions and analysis on how to solve these problems.
