The major global armed conflicts from 2006 to 2007 are largely at the same level as the previous year，but the number declined slightly. The hotspots are still in the Middle East，South Asia and the Northeast region of Africa. In these areas there are multiple conflicts，including Iraq War，Afghanistan War，Somalia War，Israel-Palestinian War，Israel- Hezbollah War，and civil wars respectively in Sri Lanka，Sudan and Colombia. In India，Pakistan，Thailand and some other countries，there have been continual incidents of violence which caused lots of casualties. In resolving global conflicts，the United Nations has continuously played an important role and deployed peacekeeping operation in Darfur.
