In his first year as the General-Secretary of the United Nations，Ban Ki-moon has been working hard on his top priority tasks：solving the conflicts in Africa and the Middle East，highlighting the importance of climate change and carrying out the reform of the UN secretariat. Though with criticisms and disappointments，the efforts and contributions that he has made to solve those problems are broadly recognized. Ban Ki-moon’s tenure just began and there would be lots of pressing challenges faced him in the 62nd session of the General Assembly，such as Darfur，Iraq，climate change，the ongoing UN reform，and especially the reform of the Security Council.
