Since 2007，the relations between Russia and Western countries have sharply deteriorated. Due to the U.S. deployment of missile defense system in East Europe，all conflicts between the U.S. and Russia were suddenly aggravated and the Russo-US relations have dropped to the freezing point after the end of Cold War. Meanwhile，the relationship between Russia and European countries has also met with unprecedented crisis. The continual pressure from the U.S. led to a rising anti-American emotion among the Russian public，and the elevation of national comprehensive strength encourages Russia to say “no” to the U.S. However，Russia and the U.S. certainly will not go back to the Cold War period and there emerges a kind of neither-foe/nor-friend relationship with both confrontations and cooperation. The future trends of Russo-U.S. relationship will be largely depended on the evolutions of domestic politics of Russia while the Russo-European relations are still likely to be improved.
