Since 2005 when the intangible cultural heritage protection was initiated, Guangzhou has accomplished great achievements. In 2012,another 11 province-level intangible cultural heritages and more inheritors were newly added. Besides the demonstration and inheritance of intangible cultural heritages, Journal of Guangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage starts to be edited, and 3 more inheritance bases for province-level intangible cultural heritages are established. However, there are some problems. For example, intangible cultural heritages are not completely inherited, the means of demonstration are a bit out-dated, the inter-government departments are not fully coordinated, many intangible cultural heritages are not developed an industrial chain, the general public are not so enthusiastic as expected, inheritor applications lack behind the inheritage applications, and so on. Therefore, this report suggests that, the government should coordinate different departments to perfect the implementation and supervision of Guangzhou policies about intangible heritages, the heritages may be protected in a digital way, related regulations about the special funds for heritages should be formulated, the cultural industry for heritages should be developed, the cultural awareness of the general public should be fostered, and the primary and middle school students should be educated to voluntarily protect the heritages. <<
