Guangzhou is a famous historical and cultural city with more than 2200 years history. In China, it is the most senior business hub that trades with overseas countries. In Guangzhou, Yuexiu District remains always the city center ever since its origin, boasting a unique and important role in Guangzhou and Cantonese history. In order to protect and preserve the history line and to combine the traditional culture and modern civilization, Yuexiu strives to build a 'Cantonese Culture Expo Zone' that could symbolize the 'origin of Cantonese culture, core of thousand-year business hub, and center of public services'. Thanks to the research of Cantonese Culture Expo, this report discovers and integrates the historical and cultural resources in Yuexiu in order to better prepare its development planning, to better play its culture-leading effect, and to better enhance Yuexiu's cultural soft powers. <<
