<<The year of 2010 is “one of the worst years” in the history of Haiti. The earthquake occurred earlier this year inflicted heavy casualties and economic losses. The outbreak of cholera in October and the strike of hurricane “Tomas” in November made the situation worse. The presidential and parliamentary elections were postponed from February to November. The social instability was becoming tense due to stagnation of the post-disaster reconstruction. Haiti’s future stability and reconstruction work were greatly relied on the UN-led international community’s long-term and consistent support.
