During the year of 2012–2013，the American National Security Agency spying on Europe damaged the relationship between the US and European countries，nevertheless，the long-term political foundation of transatlantic relations will remain solid and the process of the ongoing TTIP negotiations unchanged. The EU–Russia relations have been undergoing severe test by the Ukraine crisis and the NATO’s deployment of missiles. The European Union’s external relations with the eastern partners became a highlighted spot. Although the Ukrainian government suspended the signature of the Association Agreement，the influence of the EU on it has not been weakened at all.
