After parliamentary election in December 2012，the Social Liberal Union （USL） held a large majority in both the parliament and government. A constitutional revision commission began to work. One of the main objectives of the USL in changing the constitution is to circumscribe the powers of the president. Policy tensions between the SDP and NLP in the USL will probably come to surface after the forthcoming presidential election in the end of 2014. Romanian economy has grown slowly on the road to recovery. The 2nd meeting between the Prime Ministers of Central and Eastern European countries and China was hosted by Romania in 2013. Romania is keeping active and deep-going cooperation with China.
