From the New Labour Government to the Coalition Government today，the British African policy has presented good continuity. On the basis of the New Labour’s African policy，the Coalition Government has made significant adjustment on its own，characterized of：while maintaining the basic policy of aid，giving considerations to all possibly related aspects under the national security strategy；taking trade with Africa as the lead of the whole policy while strengthening military presence，anti-terrorism and UK soft power in Africa；taking relations with South Africa and other political and economic African powers as the pillars for UK’s influence in Africa. The Coalition Government’s policy has benefited the UK and is going on steadily. It will bring impact to China’s interests in Africa as well.
