Guangzhou achieved remarkable successes in 2013 in the field of city planning，city construction，transport and land resources administration，which include constructing modern city planning system，building city strategic platform，stepping up in transit metropolis construction，starting the public advisory committee regulation and comprehensively developing ecological city construction. Meanwhile，this paper refers to certain problems faced by Guangzhou，which include transformation difficulty of population and industries between different cities’ function district，over lead of government，mono-recourse of capitals，and arduous task of modern urbanization of suburb and rural areas. In the end we look forward to a general uptrend of city construction in Guangzhou in 2014，and propose some suggestion on improving and lifting the level of city construction in Guangzhou.
