China has continually developed laws and policies to protect women’s rights and made remarkable achievements. But in recent years，rural women’s land rights issues are becoming increasingly prominent. Women’s land rights are attached to the family due to the household registration system of land rights. However，the traditional culture excludes the family status of the married，divorced and widowed women，and some village regulations and agreements are unfavorable for women，which have caused the land rights of rural women vulnerable while marital status changes. To improve protection of women’s land rights，gender awareness should be enhanced in the formulation and implementation of laws and policies，supervision of the village regulations and agreements should be strengthened，remedy measures should be completed，advocacy of gender equality should be increased，and institutional and structural gender discrimination should be eliminated step by step.
