The Russian interests in Central Asia are concentrated in economy and security.In 2013，Russia continued to actively promote security cooperation and regional integration in central Asia，and broaden its bilateral cooperation with Central Asian countries in security，economic and trade. Russia has important political，economic and cultural influence in Central Asia，and is also faced with a series of threats and challenges at the same time，such as international terrorism，extremism，drug trafficking，transnational crimes，and illegal immigration. The effect of Russia’s Central Asian policies is on the one hand related to its level of economic development and comprehensive national strength，and at the other hand conditioned by the state of big power competition in the region，the awakening of national consciousness in regional countries and their all-round foreign policies.
