Precipitating events are occurring frequently in recent years，which threats peoples’ physical and property security. In the environment of risky society，citizen’s crisis awareness plays a very important role in self-protection and minimizing the negative outcomes. The study focuses on the dimensions of subjective and objective evaluations of crisis awareness，and aims to understand Chinese netizens’ psychological status when facing the precipitating events，the mastery of basic coping knowledge and skills，as well as strategies in coping with precipitating events. Research findings will provide related parties with more comprehensive understanding of Chinese citizens’ crisis awareness.
