News client becomes another hot app after Micro blog，Wechat in the internet. Major portal websites and traditional media have launched their application to seize the market. On the whole，three types of domestic news client in distinctive features have come into being. In this paper，we select different types of applications and sample，use content analysis approach to study the situation of different news applications’ social responsibilities. The founding is：as subjected to different positioning，the three types of news client take on different social responsibility with different emphasis. Overall，social responsibilities undertook by news application is not optimistic and rating scores on their responsibility performances is low. Among all social responsibilities，the performance in information production generally is good，in educating the masses it is ordinary，and yet in terms of cultural heritage，offering entertainment and relationship coordination，it is function is weak
