This paper summarizes recent studies on social values，briefly introduces the characteristics of social values，such as materialism，collectivism，justice，the concept of contract etc. The paper puts forward that in the social transformation we are facing the situation of social value diversification. Some hot events reflect the problems of social values in our society. The paper proposed to reconstruct the social shared values. The reconstruction of social shared values must base on simple personal values，must hold some traditional social virtue which were destroyed seriously，must shape social shared values by respecting individual values，must make the social shared values turn into the benign operation，in order to improve social cohesion，make the social values compatible development of individual value，put forward the social development and progress.
