India’s target for clean energy development is to ensure that renewable electricity accounts for 15% of the overall national capacity by 2020. With regard to this，the Indian government is committed to the promotion and deployment of renewable energy，introducing incentives and support measures on three levels，including Overarching Policies，Direct Policies and Complementary Policies and Programmes. Although there has been significant progress in the development of clean energy，many policy and innovation challenges have appeared.
