Social enterprise is a newly emerging type of organization，the development of which are attracting more and more attention. In 1970s，the modern social enterprises grew up，the social enterprises of European and American countries began to revive and increase gradually. Although the development of the social enterprises in China is at its early stage，there is tremendous potential. In recent years，The network to support the social enterprises has been established step by step and the entrepreneurs with social entrepreneurial spirit keep emerging，which promote the growth of the social enterprises in China. This article describes and analyzes the concept and characteristics of the Chinese social enterprises，the background and reasons to its rise as well as its current situation and problems. Suggestions are put forward concerning developing the social enterprises in China.
