In recent years，the situation on the Korean Peninsula has been the focus of the international community，mistrust，confrontation and uncertainty between ROK and DPRK is the direct cause of tension on the Korean Peninsula. As the result of long-term political competition，so far the two sides can not form a consensus over security issue and unification. In 2013，the Park Geun-hye Administration adopted a new policy paradigm-“Trust-Building Process on the Korean Peninsula” to achieve three objectives -improving inter-Korean ties，establishing peace on the peninsula，and laying groundwork for unification-based on mutual trust. In addition，the Park Geun-hye Administration is working together with the international community through the “Trust Diplomacy” and the “Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative”，to expand support for DPRK policy. However，many factors at home and abroad are still restricting the improvement of inter-Korean relations. Looking ahead，inter-Korean relations is still not optimistic.
