Hunan Province is one of the main areas for Eucommia ulmoides typically with traditional cultivation mode that receives low management with the result of low yield and low economic return. Adoption of the new cultivation mode of Eucommia rubber（orchard-like intensive cultivation）in Hunan province has just begun，further improvement is still needed in establishment and management of orchard-cultivating mode. The results based on large number of documents，field data and on-the-spot surveys showed that the important factors for the stagnation for the Eucommia industry in Hunan are lack of leading enterprises and overall planning organization. This paper provides some guiding principles for managing Eucommia rubber resource and healthy development of Eucommia industry in Henan province.
