In this paper，we investigated the process and features of population urbanization，industrialization urbanization and land urbanization in Wumeng Mountain Area since 2004 which based on the connotation of New Urbanization. The results showed that，as a whole，Wumeng Mountain Area is now in the stage of rapid urbanization although the urbanization levels are obviously differences among the sub-areas，and the urbanization quality is poor which be showed by the degrees of urbanization and economy development are not match，the interactions between population urbanization and industrialization urbanization is weak. Then，the author focuses on the mode selection and inner motivation mechanisms of Wumeng Mountain Area’s urbanization. Lastly，we proposed the urbanization strategy and implementation scheme which covered the related industrialization，spatial innovation and population transfer strategies of Wumeng Mountain Area into account.
