In recent years，the trend of aging population has become increasingly serious in Beijing，holding the characteristic of a large base，fast growth，aged disability and the increasing number of empty nesters. It has become a strategic issue of Beijing for its long-term development to deal with the issue of aging .This paper analysed the challenges of aging population to the economic and social development in Beijing. This paper also put forward plans of adjusting the development strategy and the work mentality，speeding up the development of pension services，improving the basic old-age security system，building the social endowment service system，so as to promote an coordinated development between ageing population and economy.
