Thanks to the strong export performances, the economy of the four Central European countries has shown signs of recovery. However, it is unlikely to restore the growth rate to the pre-crisis level in the near future. With a view to protecting themselves from the negative impacts of the European debt crisis and to reinforcing domestic finance, all the four countries implemented structural reforms and fiscal austerity policies.
