Shale oil and gas revolution，originated from the United States，has made the world energy supply structure significantly changed. On the other hand，Japan’s nuclear plants are still in suspension because of East Japan earthquake. Natural gas and oil powered energy has increased，trade balance has deteriorated because of increasing fuel import，and negative effects emerged. Providing the unsustainable dependence on nuclear power，Japan has a strong motive to import LNG from USA to diversify natural gas supply channel. Based on energy situations in Japan and the world，this paper briefly introduces Japan’s current and future primary energy supply（oil，natural gas，coal），and discusses future energy situation and trend in the world and Asia in addition.
