The generation born in and after 1980 (the "post-1980 generation") has witnessed dramatic social changes since the 1978 reforms. Concomitant with social and economic development, the young members of the post-1980 generation have moved from their childhood to adulthood in the last 30 years, and have stepped into the most important phase of their lives. The paper, based on survey data, focuses on the elite group of the post-1980 generation, and examines their demographic characteristics, employment situation, personal income, family life, consuming behaviors, and their political attitude. Meanwhile, the paper also analyzes factors which contribute to the level of satisfaction with personal and social situations. Further, the political attitude of the "post-1980 generation" is also discussed. <<
