Under the background of international development in data news，the characteristics of data news was analyzed in this paper based on the case study of Xinhuanet. Those features include mining truth by data，visualizing knowledge，popular science gaming along with integration of multi-product forms，cross-screen and immersive reading，reutilization of data news on television and newspaper，mobile leading and data mining. Meanwhile，the multiple visualization columns of xinhuanet on generalized video are comprehensively promoted. On the basis of data statistics and analysis summary，this paper presents future trends and countermeasures about domestic mainstream news media in geographic location，the reuntiliztion of date relationship and relation between man and objects beyond the pure data relationship.
