The general situation of Uzbekistan in 2014 is good，with reform in the political area procceeding with steady steps，the preparatory work for the parliementary election at the end of the year and for the presidential election of 2015 going on in an orderly manner. The government attaches importance to reform in the area of people’s livelihood，keeps on high alert to the religious extremist force and terrorism and give them a serious blow. The structural adjustment in the ecnomic area increases，making efforts in developing small and medium-sized enterprises and expanding job opportunities，the economic situation for the whole year being good，and the national income continuing growth. Diplomatically speaking，the country maintains the situation of steady development of relations with great powers，keeping stable relations with Russia. Its relations with the US and the European Community develop steadily，and its relations with the neighboring countries adjust somewhat. Uzbekistan actively participates in all kinds of cooperative projects within the framework of the SCO，and attaches importance to its relations with China.
