The year 2014 saw a stable political situation in Germany. After the state parliamentary elections in the 3 eastern states,new coalitions were formed and the Alternative for Germany gained added momentum. The German economy in 2014 demonstrated a stable growth with domestic consumption being a major driving force. The labour market performed better and the employment rate hit a record high in 8 successive years. The Pegida calling for anti-immigration and anti-Islam aroused numerous protests and affiliated movements. Changes have taken place in Germany’s foreign policies. China-Germany relations have been developing towards the direction of innovative cooperation based on the past institutionalized and all-round cooperation.
