The paper analyzes the mai n types of mud-brick houses existing in urban villages of Guangzhou. Meanwhile，it summarizes the major problems caused by the houses at present，including potential safety hazard，influencing the appearances of the villages，hidden security dangers，sanitation problems，and land use problems，etc. In the end，the paper proposes some suggestions for the promotion of reconstruction of mud-brick houses in urban villages of Guangzhou.
