This report is the 2014 annual report of the research group of “Beijing society-building analysis report” of Beijing University Technology.This report mainly used the authoritative data and materials released by the Beijing Municipal Government and relevant departments，combined with the observation and research of the group members. It analysis the main society-building achievements and problems，and give some suggestion.In 2014，the economic development of Beijing entered the new normal，the economic growth is stable，and the expected economic growth target was completed. functions of Beijing is defined as a “national political center，cultural center，international exchange center，science and technology innovation center”，keep on the strategy of humanities Beijing，science and Technology Beijing，green Beijing. and strive to build Beijing into a world-class harmonious and livable city. Society-building achieve a new progress. Population growth rate decline，the pollution of the weather reduced，and the the urban environment improved；further development social undertakings and improve public services，promote equalization of educational development，improve health and pension services，to increase affordable housing and shantytowns，rail transit construction is being accelerated，functions which is not core began to ease.Lay down “the implementing plan of the special group for the reform of the social enterprise and social governance system（2014-2020）”. Drafting “a number of opinions for the deepen reform of system of social capital management” and other series of documents，and start the preliminary investigation and research for Beijing “thirteenth five plan” of social governance，and constantly improve top-level design of the governance of social capital. Focus on promoting community service system，and revise the basic public service directory and standards of community，and constantly strengthen construction of community convenience service facilities and service network. Further increase the municipal social construction funds to buy social services form social organizations，and various government units，districts，and counties also invest a lot of money to buy social organizations services. The Trade Union and the disable federations and other “hub social organizations” also arrange special funds to purchase of services from the social organizations in their field.However，the society-building in Beijing also faces many challenges. Beijing’s population is still increasing，air pollution governance is difficulty，the shortage of resources constraints is difficult to change，the development of public services is not increased with the people’s expectation. Under the new achievements，further understanding of the root of the “city disease” of the capital city，learning from domestic and international successful experience，improving the orientation of function of Beijing is necessary to solve the new problems and new challenges which faced by the capital society-building. And it is necessary to further innovating social management system，building the rule of law，give full play to the role of Party committee，government，social organizations in society-building，realize the comprehensive sustainable development goals of capital’s economic and society-building. <<
