In order to follow the general development trends for Chinese students studying abroad，returned Chinese talents，and foreign students studying in China（3-group students），recent reliable data are collected and analyzed from longitudinal and horizontal perspectives in this paper. The historical trends since China’s reform and opening-up are examined carefully and thoroughly. Quantitative relationships between developments of 3-group students and social-economic developments are explored by means of regression analysis. The results show that significant quantitative relationships exist between the developments of 3-group students and the social-economic developments. Some recommendations are provided for promoting development of 3-group students on the basis of research results.
