The Party Central Committee and the public pay close attention to the building of new Think Tank with Chinese characteristics from the eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China. However，Chinese think tanks cannot meet the demand of economy and society development. There are some problems in Chinese think tanks. They have not played the key role. The reason is that the think tank ecosystem has not been built，the supply mismatches the demand，and the think tank service system is lacking. Academic press is the publisher and disseminator of think tank product who is indispensible in the service system. Academic press should be brought into the general framework of the building of new Think Tank with Chinese characteristics and play diversified roles.
