Since Reunification,Macau has experienced an unprecedented leapfrog, regardless of political, economic or social aspects. On the one hand, the principles of "One Country,Two Systems","Macau people to govern Macau"and "high degree of autonomy"has brought solidly good beginning for the Special Administrative Region, laying the foundation for the take-off in the future. On the other hand, certain deep-seated structural problems have emerged. Deep-level reform is therefore inevitable. The government and the community now share the responsibility to ensure the sustainable development of Macau,in order to reach a co-ordinated development between the economy, society and environment. Constructing a new mode of governance, and endlessly reviewing the relations between the resources, level, capacity and restraints of sustainable development, with a view to ensure the principle of "One Country,Two Systems",thus have become a major challenge being faced by the Macau Special Administrative Region.
