At present, with an end of the village-dominated society era, China is marching toward a new urban era of city-dominated society. In this new era, the urban economy and lifestyle will play a dominant role, city development tends to be cluster, and more attention will be paid on the city quality and green leisure space. Under this phase change, the existing urban planning and construction, management system, environmental quality, public services, social harmony and security etc. are all difficult to adapt to the new requirements of the urban age, increasingly faced with severe challenges. In the new era, we must pay more attention to the urban scientific development, comprehensively improve the city quality and urbanization quality, actively promote a deep integration between the economic development and eco-environmental protection, realize co-prosperity of urban economy, society and ecology, taking a "low-carbon, environment-friendly, efficient, harmonious and safe" road for green prosperity in China. Therefore, it needs to establish the concept of green development, popularize the green low-carbon technologies, build the green economy especially the modern green industrial system, spread the lifestyle of green living and consumption, strengthen the system of green management, assessment and support, and further improve the relevant supporting policies and measures. <<
