The green economy is a comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development model and economic pattern. Improving the ecological environment and conserving the natural resources are its essential content, and maintaining the mankind's living environment, protecting reasonably resources, energy and promoting the economy grow reasonably are its goals. Green transformation of China's urban development is not only a response to the global climate change, but more important thing is to practice the scientific development concept and sustainable development. Overall, the urban green economic development is still in the primary and exploratory stage in China. In recent years, the governments in all levels have taken a number of specific actions in the urban green economy, and have achieved positive progress and effectiveness. However, it still faces many obstacles and challenges.
