The green community construction is an important force to promote urban green prosperity. Resident's participation is the main form of urban green community construction. The unique nature of community environment is that the producers and victims of environmental issues are same subjects and they have common interests. Since 2004, China starts to carry out a green community construction campaign, and the environmental protection gradually becomes important activities in communities, but it is still in the executive-leading stage. Beijing Dongsi Sub-Distract carried out the green community construction with the collaboration of the environmental NGO "Global Village of Beijing" and then spread to the harmonious community construction. The practice shows that, based on the community, the close integration of environmental protection and people's daily lives, the cultivation of incentive mechanisms of resident's participation and resident's common consciousness are necessary conditions to promote green community construction. <<
