In 2014，Chongqing ranked the 20th in the increase of the total cultural consumption in urban and rural areas and the 20th in the growth of per capita value. The Rankings of the status evaluation are as follows：in the lateral evaluation among various provinces，Chongqing ranked the 13th in 2014；in vertical evaluation itself，Chongqing ranked the 27th，10th，17th，13th and 19th during the periods of 1997-2014，1999-2014，2004-2014，2009-2014 and 2013-2014 respectively.
