The Eurasian Economic Union is a key strategic measure for Russia to integrate the post Soviet space and maintain the status of the world’s great power on the new basis. Regional economic integration is in accordance with the actual development trend of the world，and has its inherent operational logic and rules as well. Ukraine crisis and Russia’s economic development that is not sustainable brings uncertainty to the development prospects of the alliance. Taking into account the unsustainable existing economic development model in Russia，it is still unknown whether the Eurasian Economic Union can complete its goals according to the predetermined schedule and become a highly integrated economy，produce scale effect and bring a new development opportunity for member states.
