Although the problems of road traffic safety in China have been improved，but we still faces a grim situation. This paper introduces the China road traffic safety status. It still shows a relatively high proportion of low-safety-performance vehicles，drivers with low safety consciousness and poor safety of road infrastructure etc. At the same time，it points out that China’s road traffic safety faces the risks，development opportunities and favorable conditions. In addition，this paper puts forward that the future vehicle new technologies，such as self-driving and Internet of vehicle technology，will also bring unprecedented new challenges to traffic management.
