The construction of major engineering projects is an inevitable path for a country to build an independent and integrated national economic system. During the process of project construction，to carry out targeted science popularization activities plays an important role in guiding the public to gain an objective understanding of strong scientific support behind the projects，and maintaining good relationships among the government，the enterprises and the public. In the paper，it expounds on how Sinopec in Jiujiang city，Jiangxi province succeeded in helping the public eliminate the doubts by virtue of science popularization tools；put an end to the past experience where if PX projects in China encountered opposition and different opinions they normally came to a suspension and halt. In a nutshell，all the aforementioned practices will provide guidance and enlightenment for the development of enterprise science popularization and be instrumental in giving full play to science popularization’s contributing role in major projects construction.
