Under the new situation，the Shanghai Social Sciences Association （SSSA） should shifts her priority from fostering and management of academic social associations to strengthening the function of academic social associations，develop social organizations and provide public service. Therefore，it is necessary for SSSA to build a public platform for social development and social service with the help of its strong foundation of academic associations. Now we should try our best to construct the public platform of academic research and academic exchange，the public platform of management of academic associations，the public platform of policy-making consultancy，the public platform of socialized education and popularization of social sciences，and the public platform of release and evaluation of academic achievements. By building such a series of public platforms，we can increase the attraction and coherence of SSSA，and enhance its capability in integrating resources of social sciences，developing dominant disciplines，and building academic reputation.
