As one of the new driving force of the economic development in China under new normal，tourism gradually gained strategic importance in economic and social development of China. In an era of “Internet +” and “Tourism +”，it becomes a prioritized goal to cultivate quality tourism professionals to promote the transformation，upgrading and rapid development of tourism in China. This report analyses major problems emerging from talent management and cultivation，and summarizes good practices and experiences in local tourism professionals development，based on the field research and survey conducted in 20 cities of 7 provinces. This report also proposed related suggestions and solutions to strengthen the cultivation of tourism professionals in China，in response to the task of building China into a country with strong tourism industry required by the “13th Five-Year Plan”
