Based on the data from two large-scale national sample surveys（2011 and 2012 respectively），this report analyzes the life satisfaction among Chinese residents. The analysis finds that，in 2012，nearly 50% of the residents feel satisfactory about their life status；but comparing to the year of 2011，the average level of life satisfactory has fallen a little；the residents in western areas have the highest level in life satisfaction，followed by the residents in eastern areas，while the residents in central area have the lowest level in life satisfaction；meanwhile，the life satisfaction among urban residents is lower than rural residents. Finally，this study also analyzes the life satisfaction among different groups.
