解决长江中游城市群产城融合问题的本质在于弄清城镇化如何推动长江中游城市群制造业在空间上有效集聚或者实现资源配置效率最大化，这也是进一步促进长江中游城市群产城融合、推动长江中游城市群经济平稳较快增长的关键。基于上述研究思路，本文的实证分析表明随着长江中游城市群人力资本水平和研发水平的上升，以及长江中游城市群城市人口密度的增加和城市公共交通的发展，长江中游城市群的产城融合进程在逐渐加快。这意味着长江中游城市群可以继续通过提升人力资本水平和增加研发投入，即通过提升城市创新潜力来改善城市群内产业资源配置的效率，也可以通过积极城市化和发展公共交通，即通过扩大城市人口规模、降低城市拥挤成本来改善城市群内产业资源配置的效率，进而加快长江中游城市群的产城融合步伐。
<<The key point of city-industry integration of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of Yangtze River is to be clear on how to maximize the efficiency of resource allocation of this urban agglomeration. The conclusions of this paper is that the process of city-industry integration of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of Yangtze River is going to speed up，as the level of human capital is improving and the density of city population is increasing. This means that the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of Yangtze River can promote the efficiency of resource allocation through improving the level of human capital to remove the potential for innovation and increasing the density of city population to reduce the congestion costs. Finally，the city-industry integration of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of Yangtze River can be promoted.
